Daily Herald Media and its partners recognized 20 professional and community leaders younger than 40 years old during a recognition event on Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at The Grand theater in downtown Wausau. The 20 were chosen from among 78 outstanding nominations in the Daily Herald's first 20 Under Forty program. The Daily Herald launched this initiative in September 2013 to identify and celebrate a new generation of people in the Greater Wausau Area who are helping their employers and the community thrive.
Five community judges deliberated, discussed and decided on the inaugural honorees. Judges pored over nomination papers that included nominators' letters of recommendation, nominee resumes and lists of community and career achievements.
This special website of Daily Herald Media profiles each of the 20 honorees with a biography and a video interview. View a video clip from the recognition event at The Grand in the player on this page.
Daily Herald Media wishes to thank our partners, including premier sponsor Peoples State Bank, event partner the Wausau Region Chamber of Commerce and nomination sponsors Wipfli LLP, Northcentral Technical College, Ruder Ware, Rasmussen College, Wisconsin Public Service Corp. and Greenheck Fan Corp. We also wish to thank Emily Voss from Voss Studios for photography services, and Samuel Karow from Fancy Horse Films for videography.
